TESOL PreK-12 Minor Junior Advising

 

REQUIRED COURSES FOR JUNIOR YEAR:



You need to be fully accepted into Teacher Education by the start of the Fall semester.  Check Status Link - Education Support Center



IF NOT FULLY ACCEPTED AN APPEAL MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE FIRST DAY OF FALL CLASSES

You are required to attend the EFEX Induction Ceremony held in the Fall where students who are fully accepted into Teacher Education receive recognition.  Even if not fully accepted you are still required to attend to support your colleagues.

TESOL Courses to be Completed this Year:

 

For TESOL ONLY Students

  • LED 366 and 

  • TESL 384 (Fall or Spring semester) 

 

If you are also an ELED licensure student, you must take:

  • ELED 310
  • LED 366 and
  • EDUC 311 (in place of TESL 384) as a cluster with other ELED courses during fall semester
  • TESL 470 and TESL 381 (Spring semester) 
  • ENG 308 (Fall semester) 

If you are TESOL only student, you may take ENG 308 your Junior year. 

Other students (ELED, SEED, etc.) will take this course Fall semester their Senior year.

Student Teaching -

 

If you are a TESOL-only licensure candidate, you must apply for student teaching during Fall semester of your Junior year.

If you are seeking another teaching license in a MAT program, you will apply for student teaching at the time designated with that program and include TESOL as one of your student teaching areas

Awareness of future tests and fees that need to be completed.

  • (Graduate school ($55) - must be paid during Fall of Senior year

  • Complete most of your major requirements before Senior Spring

  • ETMC
  • The Student Success Center
