Is this program offered online?

Post-Baccalaureate Masters of Arts in Teaching, K-12 Adapted Special Education:

* For students who want to earn initial teaching licensure in K-12 Special Education, Adapted Curriculum;
* Classes offered in multiple formats to meet the needs of post-bacc students -
* Face-to-face classes on JMU's campus;
* Online classes through the Virginia Adapted Special Education Consortium;
* Hands on experiences working with students with disabilities.


Is this program offered online??

This program is partly online through JMU's partnership with the Adapted Cirriculum Consortium. Many of the courses can be taken online OR face-to-face for those who prefer that option. Some courses (paarticularly prerequisites for admission to Teacher Education) may only be offered face-to-face. If admitted, your advisor will work with you to develop a program that works for you.


I have a full-time job. Will courses work for me?

The online courses offered through the Virginia Adapted Consortium are offered in both asynchronous and synchronous formats. The synchronous classes meet 4:00 pm or later, once per week.


I have a full-time job. Can I complete this program part-time?

Yes. If admitted, your advisor will work with you to develop a program that works for you.
